Designed by the sisters Truus en Riet Spijkers, the new range featured military inspired pieces from the 20s. The silhouettes represented brave women attracted by adventure, and who are not afraid to take risks to reach the top of racing and aviation. Just like the ‘Fast Ladies’ it’s important to Spijkers en Spijkers that women feel liberated in their clothes.
In May 2010, AIFW was bought by Bart Maussen en Hans van der Linden. The new owners focus on the positioning and commercialization of the Dutch fashion event. Maussen aims to enhance the international exposure of the event and its financial position. Since its previous edition AIFW improved on the states quo of the location, all left now is the line up topped off with some international allure.
