Full-length evening gowns were de rigueur, with Amber Valletta, Rachel Zoe, Joy Bryant and Margherita herself all opting for maxi proportions. Eva Mendes broke away from the trend in her shimmering silver and gold cocktail dress.
The stars were treated to an array of mouth-watering canapes - including hoisin duck pancakes, watermelon with feta and tarragon cubes, and lobster with vanilla bean tempura - before they sat down to a private dinner.
