On their way to Thailand Miss Jolie got a tattoo of the Bengalese on her back as a symbol of her Cambodian citizenship. This Asian tiger also conveniently hides a previous tattoo of a blue box, which was a symbol of the loneliness for Jolie.
Angelina Jolie loves to decorate her arms, wrists, neck and shoulders with poetic words and spells. Most of the sayings and phrases are directed towards a very radical kind of human rights demonstration. The Gothic letters Jolie’s collar bone says, “Know your rights”, which is a line from one Jolie’s favorite Clash songs. The Arabic writing on Angelina’s right arm is translated as “strength of will.” The Roman number 13 is written on her left forearm. It was written because she does not believe in superstition. The poetic words of Tennessee Williams are written on Jolie’s left arm,”A Prayer for the Wild at heart, kept in cages.” It was written because she felt as a teenager, a strong repression by their mother. The Celtic ruin on Angelina’s wrist, the letter H is a reminder of her brother James Haven. The letter “M” on her right hand is a reminder of her mother Marcheline Bertrand.
Jolie believes tattooing of the body shows the love for one’s children. The numbers on Angelina’s left shoulder are the geographical coordinates of the locations where her children were born. These coordinates cover the name of her ex-husband, Billy Bob Thorton.
