Kate Middleton Wedding Dress radiates oomph and dazzles crowds
The Kate Middleton Wedding Dress was something that everyone in the fashion world was dying to get a peek of beforehand. When fashion’s best kept secret was finally unveiled it did create a lot of ripples. The dress was done by Sarah Burton for Alexander Mc Queen and has cemented the designer’s name and label. Being part of such a historic moment has been a great honor said the designer in an interview later. The princess had been an active part of deciding the dress and its design and it clearly showed her taste in its simple and practical style.
The dress was made of ivory lace and satin with appliqué work all over the sleeves. Every detail of the Kate Middleton Wedding Dress was elaborately planned and thoroughly thought out. The most anticipated dress did not disappoint the public when it was finally revealed as she walked down to aisle to be married to her prince charming. The technique and skill of the Mc Queen atelier definitely was put to good use. The dress was traditional and modern at the same time combining elements of both in its design.  It has ivory white hand cut English lace and French Chantilly lace. The lace was made using an Irish needlework technique which is called Carrickmacross.
The unique design created on the ivory silk tulle incorporated elements form the thistle, the rose, daffodils and shamrocks. The British brand Alexander Mc Queen is well known for their technical construction of clothing along with traditional workmanship. This has certainly been reflected well in the elegant wedding dress. The lace workers are said to have used fresh needles every three hours and washed their hands every thirty minutes to keep it looking pure white. As part of the more signature and dramatic looks favored by Mc Queen the dress also featured padding at the hips. It was part of the traditional Victorian corsetry that was a signature of the line in the early years.
The classic Kate Middleton Wedding Dress certainly pleased the public and the veil made from silk ivory tulle set off the tiara loaned to her by the Queen perfectly. The veil had hand flowers which were hand embroidered and was held in place by a Cartier tiara called the ‘halo’. The vintage veil seemed the perfect complement for the tiara which was a simple piece and was chosen to be the something borrowed for the bride to wear according to tradition.
